In 1998, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) approved Carolina Apothecary as the first fully accredited pharmacy and home medical equipment provider in Rockingham County. Accreditation is key to measuring the quality of an organization and the products and care it provides. In addition to being fully licensed by the state of North Carolina, we have achieved site visit accreditation with every visit, and are currently accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Healthcare (ACHC). This allows Carolina Apothecary to assure customers the highest standards of service, acceptance by government and insurance payers, and greater trust in our company. Not all pharmacy and home medical equipment companies are alike, but Carolina Apothecary offers the level of quality all patients should expect.
Home Medical Equipment – trained staff to handle the selection, delivery, set-up and maintenance of medical equipment and oxygen, including instruction in their proper use.
Clinical Respiratory Care – licensed respiratory therapists provide assessment, treatment and education to patients requiring continuous respiratory care.
Fitter Services – certified fitters can properly fit prosthetic items, including diabetic shoes and post-mastectomy products.
Complex Rehabilitation & Assistive Technology – our Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) certified Wheelchair Specialist can properly fit and provide home assessments for specialized mobility products.
